PR has always been fast-paced, but lately it feels less like a sprint and more like a never-ending marathon. Across conversations amongst communities, one message keeps resurfacing: PR professionals are exhausted.

It’s easy to blame that fatigue on inexperience or accept it as part of the “always-on” culture. How are professionals managing stress in an environment that never sleeps, and, more importantly, what can be done to make the work sustainable?

This study looks beyond assumptions to understand what’s really happening. Are PR professionals truly burned out? If so, what factors are driving it, and what needs to change to ensure the profession is sustainable, rewarding, and healthy for those who practice it?
